Karachi: The condition of Hindus in Pakistan is very pathetic. Extremists openly abduct Hindu girls and forcefully convert them into marriage. Even the police are only seen in the role of spectators in many such cases. A case of abducting a 10-year-old Hindu girl and forcing her to marry a Muslim man has come to light in Pakistan’s Sindh province. However, the officials have rescued the girl.
Fake documents are prepared
Abduction, forced conversion and marriage of minor and adolescent Hindu girls is a major problem for the Hindu community in rural areas of Sindh province. In another case in Sanghar, a 15-year-old Hindu girl was forcibly married to a 50-year-old Muslim man, which has not yet been recovered, according to Shiva Kachi, president of Pakistan Darawar Ittehad (an NGO for minority rights). Shiva said on Wednesday that fake documents are prepared with the connivance of some corrupt police personnel and when the victim’s parents/lawyers take the case to court, the documents are produced in the court.
