15-Day Summer Vacation for Kashmir Schools from June 23 Amid Heatwave: Edu Minister Sakina Itoo

Srinagar, June 21, KDC: In response to the ongoing severe heatwave, Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Saturday announced that all government and private schools across Kashmir division will observe a 15-day summer vacation starting June 23.

Speaking to KDC, the minister said, “The prevailing weather conditions are unbearable for students. Considering their well-being, we have decided to announce an early summer break.”

She said the government had initially planned a shorter break from July 1 to July 10, but the intense heat led to an early and extended closure. “We will review the weather situation after the vacations end and decide if an extension is needed,” she added. (KDC)
