Jammu, March 13: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday informed the Assembly that 58 non-local individuals had been issued domicile certificates in Beerwah tehsil of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Responding to a query from National Conference legislator Dr. Shafi Wani, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakina Itoo, stated that while 58 non-locals had been granted domicile certificates in Beerwah, no such certificates were issued in Narbal and Magam tehsils.
Clarifying the status of these individuals, the minister explained that they had married within the area.
Additionally, she provided data on the total domicile certificates issued to local residents, reporting 18,921 in Narbal, 26,277 in Magam, and 62,343 in Beerwah.
