After stopping at Ghazipur border, he said that he was ready to go to Sambhal alone with the police but was not allowed to do so. The Congress leader also said that preventing him from going to Sambal was a violation of his prerogatives as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

It is my right to go as an opposition party

After leaving for Sambhal, the police stopped him at Gazipur border in Delhi. “We are trying to be careful, but the police are refusing,” Rahul told reporters when stopped by the police. Rahulji is the leader of the opposition. They have constitutional privileges which are different from the rest. They cannot be stopped.”

Stopped at Delhi-Gazipur border

Rahul Gandhi, who was on his way to meet the families of the victims in the violence-hit Sambhal, was stopped on the way at the Delhi-Gazipur border on Wednesday. Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra said that to maintain peace in Sambhal, Section 163 (Prohibitory Order) of the Indian Civil Defense Code will remain in force in Sambhal till December 31. Along with this, the ban on entry of outsiders into Sambhal was ending on Saturday, which has been extended by the District Magistrate till December 10.

Four people have died in the violence
