Pakistan Terror Attack: A major terrorist attack has taken place in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 38 people have died in this attack. The attack took place on a passenger van in Down Kurram area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Dozens of people, including a police officer and women, were also injured in the attack. According to reports, terrorists have opened fire on passenger vehicles carrying Shia Muslim civilians in the restive province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in northwestern Pakistan. It is the deadliest such attack in the area in recent years.
The death toll may rise
Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary, chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said gunmen opened fire on passenger vehicles in a tribal area in northwest Pakistan on Thursday. Chaudhary said a woman and a child were among those killed in the attack in Kurram tribal district. “This is a major tragedy and the death toll is likely to rise,” he said.
Tension between Shia and Sunni Muslims
Tensions between Shia and Sunni Muslims have been simmering for decades over land disputes in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. No group claimed responsibility for the incident. According to the information, “There were two convoys of passenger vehicles, one carrying passengers from Peshawar to Parachinar and the other from Parachinar to Peshawar, when armed men opened fire on them.” Chowdhury said his relatives were traveling in a caravan from Peshawar.

President Zardari condemned
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the incident and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. PPP in a post on Twitter said that attacking innocent passengers is a cowardly and inhumane act. The party said that those responsible for the incident should be punished.
