Mumbai also achieved victory under the leadership of the captain

On the other hand, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy itself, Mumbai defeated Maharashtra by five wickets with the help of captain Shreyas Iyer and veteran Ajinkya Rahane’s half century. Shreyas, who was bought by Punjab Kings for 26 crore 75 lakh rupees in the mega auction of IPL, scored 71 runs in 39 balls with the help of eight fours and three sixes. Rahane contributed 52 runs off 34 balls. Mumbai achieved a target of 172 runs in 17.1 overs to win. Earlier, Shardul Thakur and Mohit Awasthi took two wickets each to restrict Maharashtra to 171 for nine.
