LG Sinha Assures Jobs Within a Month for Terror-Hit Families

Srinagar, June 29, KDC: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that all eligible family members of civilians killed by terrorists and entitled to government jobs should submit their documents to the respective Deputy Commissioners without delay. He assured them that their appointments would be processed within a month.

In a landmark initiative aimed at delivering long-overdue justice to the victims of terrorism, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday met with several families of Kashmiri civilians who were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists. During the emotional interaction, the LG reiterated the government’s firm commitment to acknowledging the pain of these families and ensuring justice after decades of silence and neglect.

“For decades, they were marginalised and their voices were not heard. Justice was denied. Their pain was ignored, their stories untold, and the truth deliberately suppressed,” LG Sinha said in Anantnag, as per Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com “Today, the government stands with these families to support them and honour their sacrifices.”

The Lieutenant Governor acknowledged that for years, the truth was buried under the influence and fear of the terror ecosystem. He expressed shock over how, in the past, even terrorists were given funeral processions while thousands of innocent Kashmiris killed by terrorists remained forgotten and unacknowledged.

He said that hundreds of families have now come forward with courage, naming Pakistan and its collaborators in the Valley as the perpetrators of their suffering. “Now the families are exposing Pakistan and their supporters inside Kashmir,” LG Sinha noted.

To provide concrete relief, the LG directed all eligible family members entitled to government jobs to submit their documents to their respective Deputy Commissioners immediately. He assured that their appointment processes would be completed within a month. Additionally, he promised financial support and guidance to family members interested in setting up their own business ventures.

Importantly, in cases where FIRs had not been filed against the killings of these civilians, the LG said clear directions would be issued to concerned authorities to register such cases promptly.

Lt Governor also announced that steps would be taken to reclaim the land and properties of victims’ families that had been unlawfully encroached upon by terrorist sympathisers and separatist elements over the years. (KDC)
