A CRPF jawan died of suspected cardiac arrest while on patrol duty in Anantnag

A CRPF jawan died of cardiac arrest while on patrol duty late last night in Mattan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, official sources said today.

They said that Constable Azad Ahmad Nazar of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) B/96 Battalion died while on camp patrol duty in Mattan area of Anantnag district.

The incident occurred during his night shift, between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM, when he collapsed due to a suspected sudden cardiac arrest.

According to reports, at approximately 12:35 AM, Nazar suddenly developed syncope (loss of consciousness). His fellow personnel on duty immediately responded and took him to the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Mattan for immediate medical treatment. However, the doctors declared him dead on reaching there.

A preliminary medical examination conducted by the attending doctor indicated cardiac arrest as the probable cause of death. However, the exact cause will be confirmed only after the post-mortem examination, which is expected to shed more light on the incident.

Nazar’s sudden demise has left his battalion and colleagues in shock, as he was healthy and had shown no previous signs of medical distress. CRPF authorities have expressed their condolences to his family, who are being informed and supported during this difficult time.
