Srinagar, June 24, KDC: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught a Geology and Mining Department official red-handed while accepting a bribe in the Manasbal area of Safapora in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Sources told KDC that the accused, Ghulam Mustafa Malik, a resident of Sada-Kadal Srinagar, was caught while demanding and accepting a bribe amounting to ₹10,000. Malik is currently serving as the Incharge of the Geology and Mining Department for the Safapora zone in Ganderbal district.
Acting on a specific complaint, ACB laid a trap at Manasbal, where Malik was caught red-handed receiving the bribe money.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway to ascertain the full scope of the case. More details are awaited. (KDC)
