AI & robotics have revolutionised medical field: Rajasthan Dy CM

Jaipur, Feb 13 (IANS) Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said on Thursday that artificial intelligence and robotics have ushered in a revolutionary transformation in the medical field.

“AI-driven technologies are making disease diagnosis and treatment more efficient, ensuring patients receive timely and accurate medical care. In India, AI is emerging as a key driver of infrastructure and social progress, particularly in healthcare,” she said while addressing the inaugural event of Precision-Progress on Robotics & AI, organised by the Department of Urology, Sawai Mansingh Medical College.

She added that its integration into ‘Digital India’ is fostering medical innovation, accelerating development, and enhancing patient care.

Highlighting the role of governments in AI adoption, she said that both the Central and state governments are actively leveraging artificial intelligence to strengthen the medical sector. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affordable and accessible healthcare is becoming a reality across the country.

She added that new AIIMS hospitals, medical colleges, dispensaries, and Jan Aushadhi centres are being established, ensuring quality medical facilities reach every corner of India while research and super-speciality services are also being prioritised.

She added that in Rajasthan, the BJP government, led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, is committed to enhancing healthcare infrastructure.

“The state’s first-year budget has allocated an unprecedented ₹27,000 crore for medical advancements. Additionally, the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana, modelled after Ayushman Bharat Yojana, is making treatments for critical illnesses more accessible, reinforcing the government’s commitment to quality healthcare for both urban and rural areas,” she claimed.

Expressing her appreciation, she congratulated the Urology Department of SMS Medical College for completing 50 years.

She praised the pioneering work of Dr. K.C. Gangwal, acknowledging his contributions as an inspiration for the medical community.

She also highlighted that the SMS Urology Department holds a prestigious position in India’s healthcare system.

The event whitesed the presence of Dr. Mahendra Bhandari, Dr. Shivam Priyadershi, Dr. Nichiket Vyas, Dr. Neeraj Agarwa, Dr. np gupta, aong with esteemed medical experts from across the world.
