There are two settings available on WhatsApp that protect your data from overspending. It is possible that these two settings are consuming more of your mobile data. If you are suffering from mobile data usage problem, you should check your WhatsApp immediately.
Check this setting first
If you want to save your mobile data from wasting, then for this you have to open your WhatsApp. After this, you have to click on the 3 dots appearing on the top right and go to the Settings option. After going to settings, you have to click on Storage and data option.
On the storage and data option, you’ll get the option to use less data for calls below network usage. If you have disabled this option then enable it. This feature will help protect your data.
Set the picture quality
Apart from this, other WhatsApp settings prevent excessive usage of your data. Below the Use less data for calls option, you will see an option for media upload quality. Tap on it. In this feature you get two options which include standard quality and HD quality. If you want to save your mobile data then you should choose standard quality option. If you choose HD quality, when you send a photo or document to someone, more data will be consumed.
