The first Test match is scheduled to be played here from 22nd November for which the preparations of both the teams are almost complete. If Ashwin manages to take 14 wickets in this 5-match Test series, he will become the second bowler in the world to take 550 wickets in Test cricket, beating India’s legendary spinner Anil Kumble, Australia’s great spinner Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. will become Anil Kumble achieved this feat in 115 Test matches, while Shane Warne achieved this feat in 117 Test matches and Glenn McGrath in 121 Test matches. Muttiah Muralitharan holds the record for fastest 550 wickets in Tests. He achieved this feat in 94 Test matches.
R Ashwin will also have a great chance to become the most successful Indian bowler on Australian soil. As soon as Ashwin takes 13 wickets, he will become the highest Test wicket-taker in Australia. This big record is currently held by Kapil Dev, who took 51 wickets in 11 Tests in Australia. Ashwin also needs 11 wickets to become the Indian spinner who has taken the most Test wickets in Australia. Currently this record is held by Anil Kumble (49 wickets in 10 Tests).

The veteran spinner can become the first bowler in the world to take 200 wickets in the history of the World Test Championship. Ashwin currently has 194 wickets in the WTC.
