Baramulla, May 19, KDC: In a crackdown on immoral activities, Baramulla Police on Sunday busted a sex trafficking racket operating in the Barzulla area of Kunzer in north Kashmir. Acting on a specific and credible input, a team from Police Station Kunzer carried out a swift and coordinated raid, leading to the arrest of four persons involved in the racket.
According to the police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Ab Ahad Waza, son of Ab Khaliq Waza, a resident of Utikoo Sheikhpora, Mohd Abdullah Waza, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Waza, resident of Barzulla Kunzer, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, resident of Bamroda, presently living in Utikoo and One woman (identity withheld)
A case under FIR No. 37/2025 has been registered at Police Station Kunzer under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA). Police said that further investigation is ongoing to trace and dismantle any wider network linked to the racket.
Baramulla Police reiterated its resolve to act tough against all forms of social evils and appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or illegal. (KDC)
