Hyderabad Crime Branch has busted a major theft case in Mandaruni village of Balasore district of Odisha. During the investigation, more than 20 lakhs was found, which was hidden in a pile of manure. Police have detained the woman and her son in the theft case, while the main accused is absconding.
This case of theft came to light when an agro industries company in Hyderabad filed a complaint of theft of around 21 lakh rupees from its office. The agro industry had expressed suspicion on a man named Gopal Behera. It is alleged that before committing the crime, Gopal switched off the CCTV cameras of the company and then ran away with the money.
He took the money to the village and hid it in a dunghill.
After the theft, Gopal gave the money to his brother-in-law Rajendra Behera. Rajendra took the money to his village Mandaru and buried it in a dung heap near his house. He felt that this place was so insignificant that no one would notice him. However, due to police information and continuous investigation, this hidden money was recovered. During the investigation, the crime branch team tried to trace Gopal, but he absconded from the spot. However, his brother-in-law Rajendra and his mother have been taken into custody. Both are being interrogated to find out who else is involved in this theft.
The police are conducting raids in search of Gopal
Police are continuously raiding different places in search of Gopal Behra. The crime branch is trying to find out whether other people besides Gopal were involved in the theft. This method of hiding money was so unique that it became a topic of discussion among the locals. To hide such a large sum in such a simple place as a compost heap is surprising to anyone. Police are trying to nab the main accused as soon as possible. Also, interrogation of the arrested people is going on so that the whole conspiracy of theft can be exposed.
