Budgam, Aug 07 (KDC): In strict compliance with the recent directive issued by the Home Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, regarding the forfeiture of literature promoting false narratives, secessionist ideologies, and anti-national propaganda, District Police Budgam today launched a comprehensive enforcement drive across the district.
As part of the operation, all police stations/police posts in the district conducted surprise inspections at bookstores, roadside vendors and other establishments dealing in printed publications. The drive was aimed at identifying and removing any literature or printed material that could potentially promote radicalization, glorify terrorism, distort historical facts, or vilify security forces.
The operation is part of a larger preventive strategy to curb the spread of divisive and extremist ideologies that pose a threat to the peace, security, and integrity of the nation. Special focus was laid on identifying publications that have been previously flagged for glorifying terrorist activities or inciting communal or regional sentiments.
District Police Budgam reiterates its unwavering commitment to upholding peace, law, and public order in the region. The police urge all shopkeepers, publishers, distributors, and the general public to cooperate in ensuring that such literature is neither sold nor circulated.
Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any instances of possession, distribution, or circulation of banned or suspicious literature to the nearest police station.
This drive is a part of the broader mission to safeguard the minds of youth from being influenced by misleading and extremist content and to create a secure, informed, and harmonious society.
