Congress appointed three observers each for Maharashtra and Jharkhand, these leaders got the responsibility

New Delhi: Counting of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections will take place on Saturday and the election results will be announced. Congress has become alert before this. The party has appointed three observers each for both the states. For Maharashtra, the party has appointed Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel and G Parameshwara as observers. While for Jharkhand, Tariq Anwar, Mallu Bhati and Krishna Alavuru have been assigned the responsibility of observers.

Congress has appointed these six leaders as observers in view of any situation that may arise after the counting of votes in Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. A statement in this regard was issued by the party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara have been appointed as observers for Maharashtra. Senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Wickremarka and Indian Youth Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru have been made observers of the All India Congress Committee for Jharkhand.

Counting of votes will be conducted in both the states tomorrow

All 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra went to polls on November 20, while Jharkhand went to polls in two phases. In Jharkhand, 43 seats went to polls in the first phase on November 13, while 38 seats went to polls in the second and final phase on November 20. Counting of votes in both the states will take place on November 23. In Maharashtra, the contest is between the BJP, Shiv Sena and the ‘Mahayuti’, an alliance of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Maha Vikas Aghadi consists of Congress, Shiv Sena (Ubhatha) and Nationalist Congress Party (SP).

In Jharkhand, there is a contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the ‘Bharat’ alliance.
