Srinagar, Mar 18 (KDC): The Cyber Police Kashmir has successfully recovered ₹45 lakh lost to online fraud and credited the amount back to victims, preventing further financial losses.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Cyber Crime Kashmir, Iftkhar Talib, told Kashmir Dot Com that the recovery was made through swift action and coordinated efforts. “Our team worked diligently to trace and reverse the defrauded amount. Cybercriminals employ sophisticated tactics to deceive people, but prompt reporting enhances the chances of recovery,” he said.
He urged the public to remain cautious while conducting online transactions. “People should avoid dubious investment schemes, refrain from sharing sensitive banking information, and report cyber fraud immediately, as early intervention increases the likelihood of recovering lost money,” he added.
The Cyber Police Kashmir continues efforts to tackle cybercrime and has advised victims to report incidents at the Cyber Police Station Kashmir or via the national cyber helpline 1930. Complaints can also be registered through official channels and social media handles of Cyber Police Kashmir. (KDC)
