Despite being out of the Indian team, these 3 players made a splash in the IPL auction, teams also opened their coffers

The IPL 2024 Mega Auction has held the lottery for three star players left out of the Indian T20 squad. Which includes KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal. These players have got huge amount in auctions and these players have become rich. Shreyas Iyer and Rahul are also likely to become captains. Both these players were captains in their previous franchises as well.

1. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is out of the Indian T20 international squad. He played the last T20 International match for Team India in the year 2022 against England. After that he did not get a chance to play a T20I match. After this Rahul was not retained by the Lucknow Super Giants team even in the IPL. There was already a possibility that he would go to another team. There was a bidding war between RCB and KKR to buy KL Rahul in the IPL mega auction. After this, Delhi Capitals also joined the bidding. Finally, Delhi Capitals bought Rahul for Rs 14 crore. Rahul has not been able to perform as per his name for some time now. So far he has scored 4683 runs in 132 IPL matches.

2. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer is out of the Indian T20 squad due to poor form. So far he played the last T20 International match for Team India in the year 2023. Under Iyer’s captaincy, the Kolkata Knight Riders team won the IPL 2024 title. But still the KKR team did not retain it. After this, money has rained on him in auctions. Iyer was bought by Punjab for Rs 26.75 crore, while his original cost was just Rs 2 crore. There is every possibility that he will become the captain of Punjab Kings.

3. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is currently out of the Indian T20 squad. The last T20 International match for Team India was played in the year 2023. But now he got a huge amount in the auction. The Punjab Kings team has bought him for 18 crore rupees. IPL’s most successful bowler Chahal also had to enter the mega auction as Rajasthan Royals released him ahead of IPL 2025. Chahal is the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. He has taken 208 wickets in 160 IPL matches.
