Dhaka: ISKCON Bangladesh dissociated itself from Chinmoy Krishna Das on Thursday, amid a major controversy over the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das on charges of sedition. ISKCON has said its actions do not represent a religious organization. ISKCON Bangladesh General Secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said that Chinmay Prabhu has been removed from all posts in the organization for breach of discipline and that the activities carried out by him are not the activities of ISKCON.
Baseless allegations are being made against the organization
Charuchandra Das Brahmachari Brahmachari said that recently, there has been a continuous attempt to spread false and fabricated propaganda about ISKCON Bangladesh by focusing on the Jagran Jot movement of the Bangladesh United Sanat. Ever since the government was changed by mass uprising on 5th August, some people have been trying to destabilize the society by making misleading statements and baseless allegations to make our institution controversial.
Saddened by Saiful Islam’s demise
Charuchandra Das said that this effort has reached its climax especially after the tragic death of Saiful Islam Alif, a well-known lawyer from Chittagong. Attempts are being made to falsely blame ISKCON Bangladesh for the untoward incident in front of the Chittagong Court Building. We wish to clarify that ISKCON Bangladesh has no involvement in such brutal incidents and ongoing agitation.
The demand to ban ISKCON is unwarranted
Charuchandra Das Brahmachari said that the lies have now reached such a level that even things like road accidents are being imposed in the name of ISKCON. We have clarified this matter through press conferences and at various levels of government and administration. But unfortunately certain people are deliberately spreading false propaganda against our organization and making unreasonable demands like banning ISKCON.
