DRDO successfully test-fired its long-range hypersonic missile on 16 November 2024 from the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. This hypersonic missile is designed to carry various payloads at a range of over 1500 km for all services of the Indian Armed Forces. The missile was tracked by various range systems deployed in different domains. Flight data received from down range ship stations confirmed successful terminal maneuvers and impact with high accuracy.
Let us tell you that Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, developed indigenously by laboratories in Hyderabad and various other DRDO laboratories and industry partners. The flight test was conducted in the presence of senior scientists from DRDO and Armed Forces.
