Elon Musk changed the game in one fell swoop, launching direct-to-sell technology, SIM-free and network-free calling.

Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service is going to launch in India soon. Earlier, Elon Musk introduced a new type of direct-to-sale technology. Through this technology, the user’s cellphone i.e. mobile will be directly connected to the satellite. This will not require any specific hardware or software in the mobile phone of the users. Through this technology, users will be able to access calling and text message services without a SIM card.

Starlink’s satellite internet service is completely different from other service providers and provides superfast internet access to users with low latency through low orbit. This direct-to-cell technology will provide better connectivity to users’ devices.

What is Direct-to-Sale Technology?

This is called advanced satellite communication technology, through which the user’s smartphone is connected via satellite. For satellite communication, a cellphone i.e. mobile does not require any receiver or terrestrial device. Apart from this, the special thing about this technology is that it does not require any specific hardware or software app in the mobile phone. Users will be able to connect their phones directly to the satellite. Currently this technology test supports messaging and calling. Internet service will also be available soon.

This direct to sale technology will write a new chapter in the field of Internet of Things (IoT). This technology will help connect millions of devices simultaneously to the satellite. This will be very helpful especially in logistics, agriculture and remote monitoring. Users will be able to connect to the satellite internet through their standard smartphones. This technology will prove beneficial during emergencies as connectivity can be established even in areas without network coverage.

Partnership with Telecom Operators

For this, Elon Musk’s company Starlink has partnered with telecom operators in many countries around the world to provide satellite connectivity to users along with existing mobile networks. After the direct-to-sale internet service becomes available to users in the next few months, users will also get internet speed of 250 to 350Mbps through this technology.
