Srinagar, March 27: English Browne India Ltd. (EBIL), a premium luxury hygiene brand, officially launched its operations in Kashmir, pledging a significant investment of Rs 100 crore over the next five years to enhance hygiene standards in the region and generate employment opportunities for Kashmiri youth.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Press Club of Kashmir in Srinagar, where company representatives outlined their ambitious plans for the region.
Speaking at the event, Waseem Raja, Head of Business for Kashmir, and Narinder Singh Ball, Head of J&K at English Browne India Ltd., emphasized the company’s commitment to introducing groundbreaking hygiene products in the Valley. Highlighting their innovation-driven approach, the company unveiled the World’s First Sanitary Pad Protection Kit and the World’s First Babies’ Diaper Protection Kit, both of which are patented solutions designed to enhance comfort, protection, and hygiene across various consumer segments.

The company announced that as part of its long-term strategy, 500 jobs will be created in Kashmir, providing employment opportunities to local youth and strengthening the regional economy. English Browne’s sales force will be given a unique identity, not designated by traditional corporate titles but honored with the title of ‘Hygiene Ambassadors of Kashmir’, underscoring the company’s belief that its team members play a crucial role in elevating hygiene levels across the region.
To facilitate its expansion, the company has established two regional offices in Kashmir—one in Srinagar and the other in Anantnag. Officials at the press conference further stated that if business growth continues at an accelerated pace, English Browne India Ltd. will explore the possibility of setting up a manufacturing unit in Kashmir. “This will be a unit of the people, for the people, and by the people of Kashmir,” company representatives affirmed, emphasizing their long-term vision of supporting local communities through sustainable business initiatives.
