Farooq Abdullah Reiterates Call for Immediate Restoration of J&K Statehood

Budgam, July 18: National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Friday visited the Aga family residence in Budgam to extend condolences over a recent bereavement.

Speaking to reporters during the visit, Dr. Abdullah renewed his strong demand for the swift and unconditional restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, declaring it a rightful claim of the people rather than a political concession.

He expressed concern over the continued denial of democratic and constitutional rights to the region’s residents, stating that statehood is key to restoring the dignity, identity, and autonomy of Jammu & Kashmir.

Calling it both a political imperative and a moral responsibility, Dr. Abdullah urged the central government to act without further delay and reinstate democratic structures in the J&K.
