Fishing boat collides with Indian Navy vessel, 11 rescued, search for two continues

There was an accident with the Indian Navy in the sea northwest of Goa on Thursday. Indian fishing vessel Marthoma collided with an Indian Navy vessel. According to the information, there was a crew of 13 people on board the fishing vessel. The Navy has successfully rescued 11 of these people. Meanwhile, a rescue operation is being carried out to save the other two people.

How did the accident happen?

The Indian Navy informed about the accident that there was a collision between an Indian Navy ship and a fishing vessel Marthoma, 70 nautical miles off the coast of Goa. The accident happened on Thursday evening. Search and rescue efforts were immediately launched by the Indian Navy after the accident. So far 11 crew members have been recovered.

Efforts are on by the Navy to locate and rescue the two crew members of the fishing vessel. Navy informed that coordination is being done with MRCC (Mumbai). Additional assets have been dispatched to augment rescue efforts. More details are awaited.
