Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol arrested in US, wanted in several cases

Washington: The younger brother of wanted gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been arrested in the US in connection with the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui and the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai home. According to information, Lawrence’s younger brother Anmol Bishnoi has been arrested by American law enforcement officials and is currently lodged in an Iowa jail. According to the latest information provided on the website of the ‘US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’ department, Anmol Bishnoi is lodged in a county jail in Iowa. No further details were immediately available.

Anmol is believed to be living in Canada and regularly visits the US. He is the younger brother of Lawrence, who is accused of running a global criminal gang while in prison. Lawrence is currently lodged in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Central Jail. Anmol is wanted in several criminal cases, including the murder of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Siddiqui in Mumbai’s Bandra area last month. He is also allegedly involved in the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in Bandra area on April 14 this year. India has demanded Anmol’s extradition.

NIA has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any informant who helps in the arrest of Anmol. Earlier this week, the US State Department declined to comment on the possibility of deporting Anmol, saying the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI. “This type of report should be commented on by the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, not the State Department,” US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at a November 18 press conference in response to a question about Anmol’s possible deportation.
