Iceland volcano erupts again, seventh eruption this year

A Volcano broke out in Southwest Iceland Late Wednesday marked the seventh eruption since December, according to Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO).
There was an explosion at Sundhnuksgigar volcanic fissure Close to the town of Grindavik. Live footage shows lava flowing from the fissure.
“At the moment no infrastructure was threatened, but Grindavik – a small fishing town – was being evacuated,” IMO expert Benedikt Offigsson told public radio RAS2.
The eruption followed a period of intense seismic activity in the region. Iceland There are 33 active volcanoes.
