Chennai: A shocking case has come to light from Chennai. Here a patient’s relative has fatally attacked a doctor in a government hospital. The attacker Vignesh has been arrested in this case. The condition of Dr. Balaji, who was injured in the attack, is critical.
What is the whole matter?
This morning, an attendant of a patient at Kalinzer Centenary Super Specialty Hospital located in Guindy area of Chennai stabbed a doctor 7 times with a knife on his throat. The police said that the attacker Vignesh and one of his accomplices have been arrested.
The assaulting doctor was identified as Dr. Balaji is played as Jagannath. He has been admitted to ICU and his condition is said to be critical. According to police, the suspect, identified as Vignesh of Perungalthur, took an outpatient entry pass and entered the oncology department around 10:30 am, where Dr Balaji Jagannath was on duty. Accused Vignesh was accompanied by some other people.
Vignesh’s mother Prema is suffering from cancer and had a heated argument with Vignesh’s doctor over her treatment. They blamed the doctor for Prema’s critical condition. After some argument, Vignesh got angry and took out a knife and stabbed the doctor on the neck. Bystanders immediately came to the doctor’s aid and took him to the ICU, private security personnel are stationed inside the hospital, while police are stationed outside.
After the attack, the accused tried to run away but was caught by security and hospital staff. Condemning the attack, CM MK Stalin said that along with the immediate arrest of the attacker, all arrangements have been made for good treatment of the doctor injured in the attack and all measures will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening again.
