The incident has taken place amid the ongoing political controversy over the investigation of Uddhav Thackeray’s bag. Uddhav Thackeray’s bag was checked twice on Monday in Yavatmal district and on Tuesday in Latur.
Amit Shah has given this information about bag checking on his social media handle. Shah has written that, today during the election campaign in Hingoli Assembly of Maharashtra, my helicopter was checked by the Election Commission officials. BJP believes in fair elections and healthy electoral system and follows all the rules made by the Hon’ble Election Commission. We all must contribute to a healthy electoral system and do our duty to make India the strongest democracy in the world.
Fadnavis’ bag was also checked
A day before this, BJP’s Maharashtra unit on Wednesday posted a video on X in which security personnel are seen checking the ‘bag’ of Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. BJP said that it is not enough to resort to the constitution for show and everyone should also follow the constitutional system. The BJP said in the post that some leaders have a habit of ‘drama’. Let us tell you that this post was shared by former CM Uddhav Thackeray-led party Shiv Sena (UBT) after sharing a video online in the last two days.
Uddhav asked – Will the bags of BJP leaders be checked?
Let us tell you that Uddhav Thackeray claimed that election officials checked his ‘bag’ after reaching Latur and Yavatmal districts to campaign for the state assembly elections to be held on November 20. Thackeray also asked if the same rule would be applied to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders of the ruling coalition during their election campaigns.
