India vs Australia: The first match of the five-Test series between India and Australia is starting on Friday, November 22. BCCI had already announced the team. The BCCI announced some time ago that Devdutt Padikkal has been included in the Indian team squad for the first Test, he is a left handed batsman. Although Devdutt Padikal made his Test debut this year, he did not find a place in the Indian team after that. After this now he is making a comeback in a way. There was already a possibility that Devdutt Padikal could get a place in the first Test due to Shubman Gill’s injury. Now this has also been officially announced.
The first Test match was played in March this year
Devdutt Padikal played his first Test against England in Dharamsala in March 2024. Then Devdutt playing at number four played a valuable innings of 65 runs. He then replaced Virat Kohli in the team and was seen playing at number four. But this time he has replaced Shubman Gill in the team and can be seen batting at number three.
Devdutt was playing for India’s A team
Recently, when India A team played a match against Australia A, he batted brilliantly. He scored 88 runs in the second innings of the first match. However, he could not play more big innings after this. He has been in Australia for a long time, so he is well aware of the challenges there, so he has been given a chance in the team.
