The Indian women’s team hoisted the tricolor at the Asian Champions Trophy held in Rajgir, Bihar and beat China to win the title for the third time. India defeated China 1-0 in the final. The Indian players performed brilliantly and controlled the ball most of the time and on the other hand the Chinese players could not score a single goal in the match. Deepika scored the only goal of the match for India and with the help of her goal India managed to win the title.
India tied with South Korea
The Indian women’s team, led by Salima Tate, dominated the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 and did not lose a single match throughout the tournament. India defeated Japan in the semi-final. India has won the Asian Champions Trophy title for the third time (2016, 2023, 2024). With this, India has equaled South Korea. South Korea also won the ACT Champions Trophy three times.

Deepika scored a great goal
After a goalless first half, Deepika fired home a penalty corner awarded to India in the first minute of the second half, sending the crowd into a frenzy at the Bharchak Bihar Sports University Stadium. In the very first minute of the second half, Lalremsiami gave India a penalty corner. The first shot missed but the ball was inside the circle and deflected off Navneet’s stick to Deepika who put it inside the goal with a brilliant flick. India had a golden chance to double the lead in the third quarter itself, but Deepika’s shot on the penalty stroke in the 42nd minute was saved by the Chinese goalkeeper by diving to her right.
India has not lost a single match in ACT 2024
India played five matches in Asian Champions Trophy 2024 and won all of them. That means the team has managed to capture the Champions Trophy title without losing a single match. The Chinese team played five matches out of which they lost only one and that too in the final. Chinese players could not show anything special against India in the final.
