IPL 2025: Rishabh Pant writes for Delhi Capitals, will start his new innings from Lucknow

The auction was held in Jeddah for IPL 2025. A total of 577 players participated in this auction. Where 182 players were sold. Among all these players, India’s star cricketer Rishabh Pant was the most expensive and created history in the IPL. Rishabh Pant was a part of Delhi Capitals till last season, but Delhi did not retain him before the auction and finally Lucknow Super Giants bought Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore. Till date in the history of IPL no player has been paid so much for playing one season. Rishabh Pant has parted ways with Delhi Capitals after 9 years. The Delhi team wanted to buy him in the auction, but they could not match Lucknow.

It has been tough for Rishabh Pant and Delhi Capitals fans. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant bids farewell to Delhi Capitals in a very special way. Rishabh Pant also shared an emotional post on his social media talking about his entire journey. Sharing a post on his Instagram, the Indian wicketkeeper wrote that saying goodbye is never easy. This journey with Delhi Capitals has been nothing short of amazing. From adventures on the field to moments off it, I have grown in ways I never imagined. I came here as a teenager and we have grown together over the past 9 years.

Rishabh Pant further wrote in his post that it is you, the fans, who have made this journey worthwhile… you have hugged me, encouraged me and stood by me through the toughest phases of my life. I carry your love and support in my heart as I move forward. Whenever I take the field, I will be there to entertain you. Thank you for being my family and being this. This journey is very special.
