Dawood threatened
Lalit Modi said in an interview that I left the country when I received death threats. “Initially, I received death threats from Dawood Ibrahim, because he was a ‘zero policy’ for me, the anti-corruption drive was very important and I felt the integrity of the game was very important.”
’12 hours guarantee was given by the police’
Lalit claimed that his bodyguard asked him to use the VIP exit at the airport for security. Matters worsened when senior police officials told him that he was on the hit list and could only be guaranteed 12 hours of security. “Deputy Commissioner of Police Himanshu Roy was waiting for me at the airport,” said Lalit. “They told me, ‘We can no longer protect you. Your life is in danger. We can only ensure your safety for the next 12 hours.’ From there I was taken to the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai.”
Said this while returning to the country
Modi said in an interview that he could return to India “any day”. He said, “I can return to India tomorrow morning, but I am not going to go. Legally I am not a fugitive. I do not have a single case against me in any court. If there is any case, please present it.” “
