Iran’s fighter plane crashed, 2 pilots killed

Tehran, Iran): An Iranian fighter plane crashed in the southern part of the country on Wednesday, killing two pilots. It is not yet clear whether he was actually a victim of an accident or was shot down by a country. Iran’s state media has now shared information about the death of 2 pilots in this accident. State television identified the pilots as Colonel Hamid Raza Ranjbar and Colonel Manuchehar Pirzadeh.

According to Iranian media reports, the pilot was on a test flight after the plane was repaired. The accident took place near the city of Firozabad, about 770 kilometers south of the capital Tehran. The report did not provide details on the type of aircraft or the cause of the crash. Iran’s air force has several US-made military aircraft purchased before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The Tomcat F-14 is a US-made aircraft, Iran also has Russian-made MiG and Sukhoi aircraft. Due to decades of Western sanctions, the country has struggled to obtain spare parts and maintain aging aircraft. (AP)
