Israel Strikes Gaza Again, Deadly Airstrikes Kill 21

Khan Younis (Gaza Strip): Israel’s rampage over Gaza continues despite the deaths of hundreds of top commanders, including Hamas chiefs Ismail Haniya and Yahya Sinwar. At least 21 people living in a camp for displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza were killed by Israeli airstrikes in the past 24 hours on Wednesday. The Israeli military said it had targeted top Hamas militants “involved in terrorist activities” in the area. However, the Israeli military did not provide any additional information and said it took extreme care to ensure no civilian casualties in the attack.

The attack on the Muwasi tent camp was one of several deadly attacks in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. At least 10 more people, including four children, have been killed in an Israeli attack in central Gaza, according to Palestinian doctors. There is no sign of an end to Israel’s devastating war in Gaza, which has been going on for nearly 14 months since the October 2023 attack by Hamas. Hamas still holds many Israeli citizens hostage and much of Gaza’s population is displaced and dependent on international food aid for survival.

While more than 28 people have been injured

At least 28 people were wounded in Wednesday’s attack in Muwasi, according to Atif al-Hout, director of Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis. Muwasi has few public services and is home to millions of displaced people. An Associated Press (AP) reporter at the hospital saw at least 15 bodies. Shortly after the attack, Al-Awda Hospital said two people had been killed and 38 wounded in an attack on a residential block in the Nussarat refugee camp. The army had no immediate comment on the attack, but said earlier strikes in central Gaza had targeted “terrorist positions”. (AP)
