Senior National Council leader and Minister for Forest, Ecology Tribal Affairs, Javed Rana today said that the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today approved LG Manoj Sinha’s address to the Assembly and 100 – Days aim to fulfill the big promises made in the party manifesto.
The LG’s address in the Assembly was approved by the Cabinet. Addressing a press conference in Jammu, the LG promised statehood and restoration of constitutional guarantees to J&K.
He said the Cabinet also discussed the immediate response measures to be taken in case of snowfall. “We are waiting for the snowfall,” he said.
Rana said the Cabinet has also approved the construction of a new assembly complex in Jammu.
The Minister said that the Cabinet has also decided to set a target of 100 days to fulfill the big promises made in the election manifesto. “The election manifesto is now a government document,” he said. “We have completed one month in office and in the next two months, big promises will be fulfilled.”
He said that the Cabinet has approved a policy to address the problem of rising unemployment in J&K. About the reservation policy, the minister said the cabinet has decided to constitute a cabinet-sub-committee which will talk to all stakeholders and find a solution.
Regarding the special status resolution, the minister said that a resolution has been passed in the assembly recently. “Once a resolution is passed in the House, there is no need to debate it,” he said.
Regarding the return of Kashmiri Pandits, he said that though there was no discussion on this in today’s meeting, the National Conference government is committed to the honorable return of KP to the Valley. He said that the Cabinet has resolved to take all sections of the society together.
