SRINAGAR, Mar 20: Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained a person in connection with attempts to incite sectarian divisions on social media.
The detention comes a day after the gruesome abduction and murder of a girl from South Kashmir, whose body was found in the accused’s house on the outskirts of Srinagar. While the police have not disclosed the detainee’s identity, they confirmed that others involved in spreading sectarian content online have been identified for action.
Urging the public to refrain from sharing divisive content, the Srinagar Police stated, “One person has been detained for questioning, and others have been identified for action. Everyone is urged to avoid posting sectarian content lest they face the rigour of the law.”
