JKSA Commends KU Controller for Expedited BALLB Results, Urges Swift Action on Backlogs

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Friday expressed its heartfelt appreciation to Majid Zaman, Controller of Examinations at the University of Kashmir, for his exceptional efforts in ensuring the prompt declaration of BALLB and LLB (Hons) final-year results.

In an official statement, Ummar Jamal, National President of the Association, said that, “We extend our sincere gratitude to Controller Majid Zaman for going above and beyond the call of duty. His administrative resolve and swift action in expediting the evaluation process have significantly reduced academic delays.”

The association had previously appealed to the university’s examination authorities to speed up the process. Acknowledging the positive response, Jamal noted, “Time is critical for graduating students. By ensuring the early release of results, Zaman has rescued dozens of law graduates from academic limbo and enabled them to take the next step in their careers.”

Reflecting on past issues, Jamal pointed out that the university’s examination wing has long struggled with delays and inefficiencies. “Historically, result announcements and exam schedules have been riddled with uncertainty. The changes we’re seeing under Mr. Zaman’s leadership are not only welcome but remarkable. Unlike many in the administrative hierarchy, he has shown unwavering student-centric commitment — often working beyond official hours to resolve pressing student concerns.”

Jamal also praised the introduction of the Single Window Clearance System (SWCS) at the university’s main campus, calling it a “transformational reform.” He said, “The SWCS has streamlined examination-related procedures, cut through bureaucratic red tape, and greatly enhanced student convenience. Alongside a responsive student helpline, these reforms mark a paradigm shift in how KU manages examinations.”

While lauding these achievements, the association also emphasized the need to address pending issues. “Several students are still awaiting the declaration of their backlog semester results. We urge the Controller’s office to expedite these results as well, ensuring that no student is left behind. Backlog clearances are essential for students to graduate and move ahead with their peers,” Jamal added further.
