Social media users on Monday dug up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s 2011 post about a porn site’s QR code problem that he promised to work on. Trudeau was trolled Friday for attending Taylor Swift’s Eras tour concert in Toronto with his family while anti-Israel riots were raging in Montreal.
“What we saw on the streets of Montreal last night was horrific. Acts of anti-Semitism, intimidation and violence must be condemned everywhere we look. The RCMP is in communication with local police. There must be consequences, and the rioters held accountable,” Trudeau said in Montreal. wrote on riots.
Trudeau’s public embarrassment continues as his QR code post resurfaces — though this isn’t the first time the porn site post has been brought back to haunt Trudeau.
What happened in 2011?
In 2011, Justin Trudeau was not prime minister but the Liberal Party’s candidate for the Quebec riding of Pepino. On April Fool’s Day it was reported that a QR code on his personal website at the time led to a porn site. In response to the error, Trudeau posted that he was looking into the problem.
