President Joe Biden hosted a farewell party for Democratic donors at the White House, which was quickly dubbed the ‘Loser Party’. Vice President Kamala Harris was not at the party over the weekend as she went on a short vacation with her husband Doug Emhoff in Hawaii for about a week’s stay. Biden’s party was attended by Gov. Tim Walz and his wife, Gwynn, and other Dem leaders — but of course not Kamala Harris.
“Good evening everyone…if you have a seat, please take it. Don’t jump in the pool!” Biden told his guests. “The First Lady and I are hosting this dinner tonight for a very simple reason — to say thank you. Thank you to so many dear friends,” Biden said, as reported by PageSix.
“We started this journey to redeem the soul of the nation and define the light in the darkness. And I never would have gotten to where the White House has been without you and we never would have gotten as far as we did without you. And that’s not an exaggeration. I mean it from the bottom of my heart.”
Pagesix reported that many donors decided to skip the bash, calling it a losing party. “Many said they don’t want to be associated with Dems right now because of Donald Trump’s embarrassing loss in the election, and anger over the $1.5 billion spent on a failed campaign,” the report said.
Those who attended say it was like the last hurray and was a lot of fun as there were free-wheeling chats and musical performances.
What’s next for Kamala Harris?
Although Kamala Harris has been reeling since her presidential defeat, she is privately instructing advisers and associates to keep her options open, a Politico report said — whether it’s a potential 2028 presidential run or a California gubernatorial run.
