Kane Williamson returns to Tests, but has gone wrong for the first time since 2018

New Zealand cricket team captain Kane Williamson has finally returned to Test cricket. He batted in the Test match against England, where he also managed to show good performance. He also came close to his century, but missed out. This is the first time this has happened since 2018 with Kane Williamson. Kane missed the India and New Zealand series completely.

Kane’s return after a gap of almost two months

Test series between New Zealand and England has started. With this, Kane Williamson has also returned. He was on the loose for the past three months. Before this, he played his last Test match against Sri Lanka in September this year. After this, the New Zealand team toured India, but due to rising tensions, they could not play a single match in the series. Even after this, the New Zealand team won all three matches of the series and defeated the Indian team badly.

Kane Williamson played an innings of 93 runs, but missed out on a century.

While batting against England, Kane Williamson played an invaluable innings of 93 runs in the first innings of the match. During this time he faced 197 balls and hit 10 fours, but could not complete his century and fell short by seven runs. This is the first time since 2018 that Kane Williamson has been dismissed for 90. After this, whenever he crossed the 90 mark, he did not go back without completing a century.

No buyer found in IPL auction

Kane Williamson has also not taken up New Zealand’s central contract, which means he is now a master of his own will, playing when he feels like it and not playing when he doesn’t. Despite being away from Test cricket for such a long time, he is still the number three batsman in the ICC Test rankings which is no less an achievement. Recently, when the IPL auction was held, his name was shortlisted, but he found no buyer. Kane Williamson has played for many IPL teams before, but this time he might not be seen in the world’s biggest league.
