King Charles and Queen Camilla set to embark on India tour: report

King Charles plans to embark on a significant South Asian tour including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh as he continues to recover from cancer.
Buckingham Palace Following successful visits to Australia and Samoa in October, extensive plans have been set in place for the King to resume extensive international touring in the coming year, pending medical guidance.
The monarch’s previous plans to visit the region in 2022 were scrapped after Queen Elizabeth’s death in September of that year.
According to a Mirror source, “It is very encouraging for the King and Queen to be able to make plans like this, but it is very much in the offing. A tour of the Indian subcontinent is imminent, which is of great political and cultural importance to Britain on the world stage. At times like these the King and Queen are perfect ambassadors.”
The Foreign Office has initiated discussions with the countries concerned after the travel proposal has been approved.
The 76-year-old sovereign, currently undergoing treatment, felt invigorated by his brief 11-day South Pacific tour, during which he participated in around ten engagements per day.
The trip was His Majesty’s first overseas visit as head of state and the first overseas visit to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) as head of the institution.
A senior Palace representative told GB News: “We are now working on a very modest-looking full foreign tour program for next year, which is too much for us to know that we can think of in those terms.”
