Lucknow Super Giants team has created history in the mega auction of IPL 2025. The team bought Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore in the mega auction. He has become the most expensive player in IPL. He is a big contender to captain Lucknow. Before this, he captained Delhi Capitals. The team from Lucknow has been participating in the IPL since 2022, but the team has not managed to win the title even once.
Avesh Khan was bought for 9.75 crores
In the mega auction of IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants team has bought many star players by paying huge amount. The team has included Avesh Khan in their camp for Rs 9.75 crore. And 8 crore rupees have been paid for Akash Deep. These players have already performed well in the IPL and know how to win titles for the team on their own. Apart from this, players like Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed have also been included.
Players like Miller and Marsh were included in the team
In the auction, the Lucknow team bought David Miller (7.50 crores), Mitchell Marsh (3.40 crores), Aiden McCrum, Shamar Joseph as overseas players. Joseph was earlier with the Lucknow team. He has been brought back into the team by RTM. Miller and McCram are adept at playing big innings and can change the course of a match in just a few balls.
Five players were retained
Before the auction, the Lucknow Super Giants team retained five players including Nicholas Puran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni. These players performed well for Lucknow last season, for which LSG rewarded them by retaining them. Manyak is capable of throwing the ball at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour.
