Rio de Janeiro: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (local time) held a bilateral meeting with his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed enhancing cooperation in trade, investment and technology, including strengthening cultural and people-to-people ties.

PM Modi also made a post on social media platform X after the meeting. In the post, while sharing pictures of the meeting, he wrote, “Delighted to meet Prime Minister Georgia Maloney on the sidelines of the Rio de Janeiro G20 Summit. Our conversation focused on deepening ties in defense, security, trade and technology. We discussed culture, education and Also talked about promoting cooperation in other such fields.” Apart from this, he also discussed the friendship between India and Italy.
Meeting with the leaders of Norway and Portugal
Apart from this, during the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, PM Modi also held a bilateral meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storr. Earlier, PM Modi had met the leaders of Indonesia and Portugal during the G-20 leaders’ summit in Brazil. In his discussion, PM Modi emphasized on strengthening ties with the two countries in areas such as commerce and defence.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that PM Modi assured Indonesian President Prabowo Subian to expand India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He wrote on Twitter, “India-Indonesia: Celebrating 75 years of warm and friendly relations! PM Narendra Modi meets Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on the sidelines of the G20 Brazil Summit. PM congratulates President Prabowo and assures him of a comprehensive expansion of India-Indonesia strategic partnership.”
