Wayanad: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress-led UDF candidate in the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election, on Wednesday expressed hope that the people of this parliamentary constituency would give her a chance to represent herself. While visiting the polling stations during the ongoing polling for the by-elections in Wayanad, the Congress General Secretary said, ‘I hope the people of Wayanad will give me a chance to return the love and affection they have given me. They will give me an opportunity to work for them and be their representative.
Will Rahul win big? Priyanka replied
Asked about the Waqf Act issue, Priyanka said, ‘I don’t think today is the day to talk about such controversies. Today is voting day. I hope everyone will exercise their democratic rights and vote. When asked if she would win Wayanad by a bigger margin than her brother Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka said, ‘It remains to be seen.’ Let us tell you that Rahul won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by a margin of more than 3.5 lakh votes. In 2019, his margin of victory was more than 4.3 lakh votes.

Let us tell you that Rahul Gandhi, who won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in the general election held a few months ago, left this parliamentary constituency after winning the Rae Bareli seat, so a by-election will have to be held here.
