Border-Gavaskar Trophy: The Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been played between India and Australia since 1996. Over the last 29 years, this series has created a special place in the hearts of fans and day by day this series has increased its popularity. So far, many big records have been set and many records have been broken in this series. But there is one record that only David Warner and Virat Kohli have been able to create in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Kohli-Warner did wonders 10 years ago
So far, only superstar batsmen Virat Kohli and David Warner have achieved the feat of scoring a century in both innings of a Test match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Apart from these two, no other batsman could do this in BGT. The special thing is that Kohli and Warner scored centuries in both innings of the same Test match played in Adelaide in 2014.
He showed his strength in the first test match as captain
In the year 2014, the Indian team toured Australia, but due to some reasons, Mahendra Singh Dhoni could not play the first Test match. Young Virat Kohli was then given the responsibility of captaincy and he showed his intention as the captain with his brilliant batting in the first Test itself. Kohli scored 115 runs in the first innings and 141 runs in the second innings.
Warner also scored centuries in both innings
In this same match, David Warner performed brilliantly for Australia. He scored centuries in both innings and scored 145 runs in the first innings and 102 runs in the second innings. Apart from Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay, the batsmen of Team India could not perform well in the second innings of the match. Due to this, Team India had to face defeat by 48 runs.
