Pakistan beat world champions Australia at home, record ODI series win after 22 years

It’s not even a year since the Australian cricket team became world champions and they have suffered a crushing defeat at home. Pakistan team has created a new record by beating Australia 2-1 badly in 3 match ODI series. Australia won the first ODI in Melbourne by 2 wickets but then Pakistan struck back and created history by winning both the matches. The second ODI was played at the Adelaide Oval in which Australia’s batsmen fell short against Pakistan’s superb bowling. In this match, Pakistan won by 9 wickets. Now by winning the third match, Pakistan has achieved a big achievement on Australian soil.

Batting first in this third ODI match played in Perth, the host Australia team was bowled out for just 140 runs in 31.5 overs. For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah took 3 wickets each while Haris Rauf, the wicket taker in the last match, took 2 wickets. After this, Pakistan achieved the target of 141 runs by losing 2 wickets. The opening pair of Sam Ayub and Abdullah Shafiq put on 84 runs for the first wicket. Mohammad Rizwan returned unbeaten with 30 and Babar Azam scored 28 runs.

Not only this, Pakistan managed to beat Australia at home only for the second time in its ODI cricket history.
