Islamabad: Pakistan, which nurtured terrorists, is now suffering from terrorism itself. The terrorists that Pakistan nurtured have now become snakes up its sleeve. So, to deal with them, Pakistan has sought help from its friend China. After this both the countries have planned to jointly fight against terrorism. Pakistani and Chinese military officials held talks on counter-terrorism and national security issues following the recent attacks on Chinese civilians.
General Zhang Yuxia, vice chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and one of China’s two top military officers, is visiting Pakistan with a high-level delegation, a military statement said. General Zhang held a one-to-one meeting with Army Chief General Asim Munir on Wednesday, which was followed by delegation-level talks. According to the statement, the talks focused on “issues of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, regional stability measures and enhancing bilateral defense cooperation”. General Zhang spoke about Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts. Terrorism has become a major topic of discussion between the two countries due to increasing attacks on Chinese nationals working in Pakistan.
Trust Pakistan not China
According to the newspaper ‘Dawn’, it is being said that Beijing is no longer able to trust Pakistan with the security of its citizens. Therefore, China now wants a more active role in Pakistan to ensure the security of its citizens, but the ministry says counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries is based on mutual respect for each other’s sovereignty. According to Dawn News, the two sides discussed India’s role in the region and developments in Afghanistan, particularly the presence of terrorist groups. (language)
