PCB insisted on holding Champions Trophy, advised ICC to think about it

Champions Trophy 2025: Champions Trophy 2025 is going to be held on the soil of Pakistan. But BCCI has refused to send Team India there. The ICC has informed the PCB about this. In such a situation, there are speculations that the Champions Trophy will be held on a hybrid model. Because BCCI wants the matches to be held in some other country. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board has stood firm on its stubborn stance and has completely rejected the hybrid model. Instead, the PCB has sought an explanation from the ICC as to why India does not want to tour Pakistan.

PCB is awaiting ICC’s reply

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that if India has any concerns about sending its team to Pakistan, it should talk to us and we will resolve it. I don’t think there is any reason why India should not come to Pakistan for Champions Trophy. He said that the PCB has written to the ICC for more information on the BCCI’s decision. He said that we are in direct contact with the ICC and we are waiting for their response so that we can take things forward.

ICC advises to think about credibility

When Naqvi was asked, will things become more difficult for the PCB if Jai Shah takes over as ICC president from December 1? He said things don’t work that way. Each board is independent and has its own identity. I think ICC should also think about its credibility as it represents all the cricket boards in the world.

On the occasion Mohsin Naqvi dodged questions like removing cities in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) from the exhibition tour of the ICC Champions Trophy and organizing the tournament with a hybrid model. He said that I have come here to talk about the construction work of the stadium. We await the announcement of the schedule along with the ICC’s response. We will complete construction of stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi ahead of schedule.
