PCB issued new player contracts, excluding former captains

Something always happens in Pakistan cricket which becomes a topic of discussion. This time the Pakistan Cricket Board i.e. PCB has announced the list of new player contracts of its women players in which some surprising decisions have also been seen. PCB has not included former Pakistan women’s team player Nida Dar in a new contract. This time there are only 16 players who have made it to the PCB’s new women’s player contract, a major reason behind which is believed to be the team’s consistent underperformance. The Pakistan women’s team also failed to progress beyond the group stage in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup held in the UAE in October.

Apart from Nida, these players also did not get a place

Apart from Nida Dar, veteran players Alia Riaz, Sidra Nawaz, Anusha Naseer, Iman Fatima and Shawal Zulfiqar also did not find a place in the new player contracts issued by the PCB. In the year 2023 itself, the PCB had placed 20 players on central contracts for 12 months but this time the number has been reduced. Regarding the new central contract, a PCB source said, “This new contract has been prepared keeping in mind the recent performances and the ICC Women’s Future Tour Program (2025-29), in which we have decided to include young players.
