After this, Jason Gillespie was appointed as the acting limited overs coach, while also being the Test coach. After this news has come out that Aqib Javed will be made the coach of all three formats of Pakistan cricket team in place of Gillespie. But now the Pakistan Cricket Board has dismissed this news as false. The PCB tweeted that Jason Gillespie will be the Test coach and will coach the team for the two Test matches on the tour of South Africa.

Aqib Javed can become coach in limited overs

There is a possibility that he may be removed from the post of acting limited overs coach and replaced by Aqib Javed. According to a PTI report, Pakistan will travel to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and more T20Is between November 24 and December 5. A reliable source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Akhib Javed is not ready to take over as the coach of the team but PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has convinced him. The source said that the Pakistan team will travel to Harar on Monday after playing its last T20 match in Australia. In such a situation, the new head coach will join him in Zimbabwe.

Aqib Javed has coaching experience

Aqib Javed is currently the Senior National Selector. He has vast coaching experience with Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan Super League (PSL). He was also the bowling coach of Sri Lanka recently. He has been Pakistan’s bowling coach and head coach of the Under-19 team in the past. Javed’s experience can be useful for the Pakistan team.
